About Jasmine the Writer blog
Hi, I'm Jasmine Ball aka Jasmine "the writer"!
  • In 2010, I began my writing journey in college pursuing a B.A. in English w/ Creative Writing.
  • 2011, I got my first job working at a publication.
  • 2014, after graduating, I got married and left the magazine company to do copywriting with a management company.
  • 2015, I started my first business on the side — a print magazine in my town from the African American perspective (because I absolutely love the magazine industry).
  • 2017, I incorporated writing services into my offerings (this was the birth of BTM Writing Services).
  • 2018, I skyrocketed my business, replaced the income I was making in corporate America, and quit my job to go full-time in the business.

Fast forward to 2020, I became a mom… in a pandemic… in a new state. And Sheesh Louise! How do moms balance business with a baby? I invite you to follow me on this journey of being a new stay-at-home mom entrepreneur.

So here’s the full story….

Writing is what I pursued in college and what I’ve been doing professionally for over 10 years. First in corporate America and now as my own boss.

I’m originally from Alabama, where while working in corporate America, I founded a quarterly print-based magazine from the African-American perspective.

Running that passion project is what inspired me to put on my entrepreneurial hat, learn more about the business side of things, and what brought me to my purpose — which is using my talent and skills in writing to connect others to resources that help them live more informed, inspired, and overall better lives.

Since moving to Tennessee in 2019, I no longer run that Alabama-based magazine publication. However, I do still use my writing to live out my life mission. Only now on a global scale through the power of this blog and my content writing firm, BTM Writing Services.

Through that company, I’ve been blessed to attract clients from all over the world (in Thailand, the UK, Canada, and all over the U.S.) while in the comfort of my home thanks to the power of copywriting.

My entrepreneurial journey started like many — with a simple desire to supplement my income. And as a result, I’ve been able to skyrocket my business, retire from corporate America, and structure my lifestyle so I can enjoy my greatest achievement. And that’s being a new stay-at-home mom entrepreneur — which was a DREAM.

I’ve learned so much in my entrepreneurial journey. Now that I’m a mom, I’m excited to help fellow mom entrepreneurs “figure it out” too. So if you want to discover how to work less and make more, while also learning ways to balance business with a baby, then you’re in the right place.

Happy to share insights along the way and create a platform to support other stay-at-home mom entrepreneurs along their journey.

Let’s be friends. Balance business and a baby with me.
